About this Event
Being a parent to someone with intellectual disabilities can often come with unique challenges, celebrations, and learning opportunities. The Inclusion Saskatchewan's Parent Workshop offers these caregivers an opportunity to meet others with similar experiences in a supportive environment, build their own support networks, and take in educational sessions on topics relevant to this community. We hope this event will foster reconnection, build peer support networks, and empower our community of caregivers.
Who can attend this event?
The Parent Workshop is offered to caregivers of people with intellectual disability within a family context. While this typically includes mothers and fathers, anyone who has taken on a parenting role (auntie, grandpa, etc.) is welcome! Some attendees may choose to bring their partner, some may attend alone, and others may bring a family member who closely supports them in their parenting journey.
Attendees must be a member of Inclusion Saskatchewan's Family Network to attend this event (form can be found on our website at inclusionsk.com/familynetwork).
What is included in the registration fee?
There are a few different types of tickets to choose from, depending on your needs. Most tickets will include three meals on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday, all sessions throughout the weekend as well as any supplies that may be needed for them, and your hotel stay. For more details, please refer to the descriptions provided with each ticket.
Attendees should choose the ticket with the hotel package that works best for them: either as an individual within a private room, as an individual who will share a room assigned by INSK staff, or as a couple. If you're attending alone and would like to share a room with an attendee you're friends with, please coordinate with them to register as a couple.
Financial Support
We understand that caregivers in this community are at a higher risk of financial difficulties. The Family Network Program provides financial subsidies to assist those for whom cost would be a barrier. Financial subsidies cover the registration fee only (does not include add ons; attendees with subsidies must fund their own travel to and from the event).
