Family Fun and Information Day

A welcoming event for families of deaf children of all ages!

Join us for a fantastic day filled with creativity, play, learning, and connection. Enjoy the spectacular bubble displays of the amazing Big Bubble Man, get stuck into a variety of craft activities, decorate delicious biscuits, and test your skills with paper‑plane flying.

Little ones can join Story Time with Janine, who brings stories to life through British Sign Language (BSL)—a lovely, inclusive experience for all ages.

We’ll also have a dedicated area for babies and younger children, along with lots of opportunities to get crafty and creative throughout the day.

Alongside the fun, you can explore helpful resources from the National Deaf Children’s Society, and chat with professionals who can offer information, guidance, and support.

This event is the first of many that we hope the Chesterfield Deaf Children UK group will be able to offer. We’d love your feedback and ideas on what future events could look like as we work together to create something truly meaningful for our community.

Our hope is to nurture a strong, supportive local network where families can meet regularly, share experiences, and build lasting connections. Most importantly, it’s a wonderful opportunity for children to meet other children like themselves, creating valuable peer‑to‑peer contact and a sense of belonging.
