About Piggy Bank Pathways
Piggy Bank Pathways is a financial literacy program designed to help children and families build healthy money habits together. The program was founded by Dr. Darla Bishop, a public health expert and financial wellness educator, and inspired by her daughter Madeline Bishop, a 7-year-old Lansing student and co-creator of the children’s book Madeline’s Money Adventure.
Piggy Bank Pathways introduces kids to important money concepts—such as saving, spending, generosity, and smart decision-making—through stories, games, and hands-on learning experiences. The program encourages families to start positive conversations about money early in life, helping children build confidence and practical skills that support long-term financial well-being.
Piggy Bank Pathways programs and activities are designed for children ages 4–10, with learning experiences that engage both kids and the adults in their lives.
