Take time to connect with others in grief and engage the creative spark. Jamie Siela, LISW, and Jackie Koster, BSW, from UnityPoint Hospice facilitate this monthly grief group open to anyone grieving loss through death. On the second Wednesday of each month, children and the adults who support them are invited to come together in person to explore a different creative art medium. (A similar group for adults is offered on the third Wednesday of each month.)
In October, we’ll create beautiful, upcycled toilet paper roll trees in a meaningful and creative way to reflect on growth, resilience, and new beginnings. Using simple materials like cardboard rolls, paint, and paper, we'll craft unique tree sculptures that symbolize our individual journeys and the strength we find in community.
Registration is required by noon a week in advance. On the next screen, please let us know how many are in your group in the Special Reservation Issues box.
This group is free and includes all art supplies and dinner.
