Celebrate Earth Day today and every day! Kelly Reyer, the Education & Outreach Specialist with Winnebago County Solid Waste Management, will lead an all-ages family program for us at the library. Meet in the Shattuck Room to learn, ask questions, and make an upcycled craft. While all ages are welcome to attend, the program may be best-suited for school-age children and older. Younger children may require help with the craft.Kelly's education and experience in the environmental field has fueled her passion for resource conservation and she appreciates the opportunity to encourage proper material disposal and teaching best recycling practices. Her presentation will share what CAN and CAN'T be recycled in curbside bins, along with recycling tips and tricks, how the recycling facility operates, and why we hate the ugly eight. The presentation will be followed by a hands-on activity turning old t-shirts into reusable bags. Bring your own shirt or one will be provided.
No registration required.
