About this Event
Imbolc is a celtic festival that marks the begining of the end of winter. The word Imbolc means "in the belly of the mother", refering to the anticipation of new life that will soon emerge from the soil. It is held at the mid point between the winter solstice and spring equinox (usually the 1st of Feb but we are marking the occasion a day earlier). This is a great moment to get outside, learn about the natural world and feel the winter ebing away!
On this walk we will use spotter sheets and field guides to identify winter flowering plants and the first flowers and buds of springtime and will use hand lenses to take a closer look at what we find.
Suitible for families with children 3 and up. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
Whilst we are marking the first stirings of spring time it will still be winter and so warm cloaths, sturdy shoes and rain coats are all very much recomended as we wil be outside for the duration.
Willesden Junction is the closest tube station for the start and end points.
