About this Event
Falmouth Town Council Tree Champions are a group of local volunteers who are determined to get better outcomes for the trees in our Town. We have to date planted and handed out 2,000 new trees, and we hold to account those who have responsibility for our public trees to ensure that decisions regarding trees are well considered and that removal only happens when absolutely necessary. We are not a protest group, but rather we work with Council Officers and Council procedures to get effective results.
Come along and hear about the work we have done and learn how to check for tree protections and how to challenge the tree decisions being made. We have a range of volunteers who bring a wide variety of skill sets and we are completely open to people who are interested in planting new trees and in protecting those that we already have.
We would be delighted to see as many new members as possible as the more people involved the more protection we can offer.
It takes centuries for a tree to grow but only hours to destroy it.
