This event will be hosted by Young Dreamers International. Young Dreamers International is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering young Black and Brown boys between the ages of 12 and 25 who are at risk or transitioning into adulthood. The organization focuses on leadership, character building, mental health awareness, community engagement, and cultural exposure. Through mentorship, life skills training, supportive employment, and hands-on community projects, Young Dreamers equips young men to dream big, lead with purpose, and make a positive impact in their communities and beyond. We are looking for 101 men and boys to be in attendance in the name of mentorship. If you are a part of a mentorship program, a men's organization, or a youth program, be sure to sign up and bring others along.
In a call to action for this walk, we're asking the everyone bring a toy or a toiletry item to support the Community Christmas Giveaway and help Young Dreamers International make this holiday season brighter for families in need. Walk for Wellness & Give with Purpose.
The health topic for this event is Mental Health Matters, addressing stress, anger and emotional regulation in young men. We're encouraging young men to seek help, talk openly, and support one another.
The McDonough Walking Club invites you to our monthly Weekend Wellness Health initiative, supported by The City of McDonough and the District 4 Department of Public Health. We aim to promote physical activity for McDonough citizens regardless of their fitness level.
