DELAWARE OHIO PLANT SWAP 2024 (rain or shine)Location: Parking lot of Mays Consulting, 201 Pennsylvania Avenue, Delaware, Ohio

General Rules:
• Unclaimed items at end of swap: If an item you brought to the swap is unclaimed, it is your responsible to take it back home
• All plants must have tag with plant name and your last name
• All perennials, seedlings, trees, shrubs, houseplants, gardening ornaments, gardening tools/items and gardening themed décor/items are welcome
• RSVP (optional, but helpful)
Parking: No parking will be available at the swap location. You may drive through the swap to drop off/pick up items. Then you may park on nearby streets. Please note, some streets surrounding the swap are narrow and do not allow parking. Do not park on any personal yards without permission.
Bathrooms: No public bathrooms will be available during swap. However, there are gas stations, restaurants, etc. nearby should you need the bathroom.
Swap Details:
Pre-Swap: Pot-up plants close to swap date. Every item is considered equal value; i.e. one little plant 3” high is equal in trade/swap to a big rose bush or a single non plant item. Clearly and neatly label every single plant you bring; include as much info about each plant as possible (name of plant, care (sun, part sun, shade), invasive or poisonous, flower color, etc.). Also include your last name on all plants in case there are any post-swap questions.
Arrive from 12-1 pm by driving through swap location and immediately dropping off your items to the appropriate category/group (sun, shade, edibles, etc.). Private swappers will have each area marked for items to be dropped off. After you park, walk back to the location and sign in at the Welcome Tent/Table to enter raffle. Then grab a seat, sit back and wait for the plants to roll in! Many swappers bring blankets/chairs/tables to make a "spot" for themselves so new acquisitions are all together in one place (optional, but helpful). If you do so, please ensure your “spot” is out of the high traffic swap area so that your “treasures” are not confused with the plants/items still up for grabs. Please do not arrive last minute.
Swap will start at 1:00 pm. At this time, 1 of the admins will announce the start of the swap – round robin style. There are usually enough plants to go through 3 rounds of the round robin. For each item you bring, you may participate in a round. So, if you bring 3 items, you may participate in 2 rounds. If you bring 6 items or more, you may participate in all 3 rounds (plus the freebies).
1st round: pick 1 plant/item
2nd round: pick 2 plants/items
3rd round: pick 3 plants/items
Free-for-All: grab as many leftover plants/items you'd like
Private Swaps: Done in advance of swap. If you have a private swap, please provide your name to admins so that we can create a spot for your private swap items. If you’d like to participate in private swaps, create a post listing with what you have to trade and what you’re looking for. Make sure describe the plant and the quantity (a single cutting, a 2’ shrub, 10-12 rhizomes, etc.). Post a picture if you’d like, but it’s not required. Check out others offerings, make some offers, arrange some deals all done on the posts, not in private messenger. Private swap goodies MUST BE CLEARLY LABELED – to whom, from whom and label all plants. This event will get very busy with private swaps in the weeks leading up to the event!
