Country Swing is also referred to as 4 count Swing, Pony Swing or 4 count Hustle and is characterized by its use of continuous rock steps. This is an easy dance to learn and is often fun for those looking to get out on the dance floor immediately. Country Swing as we see it today looks a lot like the Hustle of the 1970's. It's a simple, high energy dance style that doesn't require a lot of dance floor and is perfect for crowded country bars and dance halls. It's a very popular dance in our area. Country Swing also pulls lots of influence and patterns from other styles of swing and ballroom dances, making it a great style of dance to introduce you to partner dance.Group Classes provide general dance instruction, and also give you the opportunity to dance with different partners, which is an important part of learning how to social dance. We do encourage changing partners in class, but if you come to class as a couple, we don't require that you change partners. We understand that your dance lessons make a great date night and we want you to enjoy dancing with your partner. They progress from week to week, allowing you to build upon your knowledge and gain more confidence. They are also more budget friendly.
Partners are NOT required for any of our classes. You will have an opportunity to change partners or dance with your teachers.
