Rehearsals have started for our spring concert on Saturday 21st March. We will be performing Louis Vierne’s Messe Solonnelle and Matthew Coleridge’s Requiem.
FCS Chair Rosemary Dear says: ‘We really like the idea of complementing a new work with something older and more traditional and chose these particular pieces of music as both require an organ accompaniment rather than our usual use of an orchestra.
‘The Coleridge has become very popular on Classic FM so, although it is a relatively new work, many people will have heard some snatches of it already. The Vierne is a big and bold work that will fill the church with the sound of both voices and organ.’
