Neil is senior minister of the historic First Presbyterian Church in Columbia, S.C. Neil grew up in Northern Ireland during the Troubles and came to faith as a teenager through the witness of high school friends. He first trained and served as a pediatrician before sensing a call to ministry; he earned an M.Div. from Reformed Theological Seminary (Jackson). He has contributed articles to Ligonier’s Tabletalk and speaks at conferences. He is married to Catherine, and they have six children.
