This beginner theatre class introduces students to foundational acting and performance skills through a guided adaptation of The Princess and the Pea. Students will explore storytelling on stage while building confidence, communication skills, and creativity in a structured, supportive environment.Throughout the week, students will learn beginning theatre techniques including character development, voice projection, facial expression, body movement, stage presence, and teamwork. Instruction includes guided acting exercises, theatre games, improvisation activities, and short rehearsals designed specifically for young, first-time performers.
Students will work together to bring scenes from the story to life using voice, movement, and expression, with simple props and staging elements to support understanding of performance and storytelling.
This is a structured instructional theatre class focused on foundational acting skills, collaboration, and performance technique development.
On the final day, students will share a brief informal performance for families during the last portion of class.
