Suburban and out-of-town fans enjoy taxpayer-funded stadiums and entertainment venues, and Detroit residents shoulder many of the city’s costs. The Citizens Research Council invites Detroiters and all who are interested to explore how a local admissions (entertainment) tax could help ensure that visitors who benefit from Detroit’s resurgence also contribute their fair share — generating meaningful new revenue for city services and property tax relief.
