🕰️ ONE. LAST. TIME. (We promise!) 🕰️Lynchburg, this is it. The clock is ticking, and the rumors are true. After a historic, whirlwind run across the region, the award-winning EC Glass Theatre is dusting off the clocks and packing up the suitcases for the absolute final performance of Failure: A Love Story by Phillip Dawkins.
And when we say "final performance," we actually mean it this time! (We know, we know... we said that before we went to states, and then we said it before regionals. But unless someone triggers a sudden space-time paradox, this is officially your last chance to experience the magic!)
We are incredibly honored to kick off the 2026 Central Virginia Fringe Festival hosted by Endstation Theatre Company on the beautiful campus of Randolph College.
🏆 An Award-Winning Journey
This isn't just a high school play—it’s a powerhouse production that has taken the region by storm.
Failure: A Love Story won E.C. Glass High School the state’s highest theatre award at the Virginia Theatre Association (VTA) conference for the first time in 17 years, proudly representing Lynchburg City Schools before traveling to the prestigious Southeastern Theatre Conference (SETC) in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
This incredible cast and crew brought home an absolute mountain of hardware as a whole, including standout individual accolades:
🏆 SETC All-Star Actors: A massive congratulations to Sophia Haupt (Gerty Fail) and Will Hoffman (Mortimer Mortimer), who both earned prestigious All-Star Cast honors for their elite individual performances on the regional stage!
🏆 The Festival Cameo Award: In a historic moment, Alex Nagy, (Pal the Dog) took home the coveted Cameo Award—notably the only award of its kind presented during the entire festival!
🏆 VTA State Monologue Champion to our very own 9th grader, Rebecca Spitzer (Jenny June Fail)!
🏆 Elite Design & Ensemble: Alongside these individual performance awards, the production also secured Best Ensemble and Best Costumes honors.
