“Echoes of Us” celebrates the past, present and future through collaboration and sound. This recital blends diverse works, each reflecting a unique emotional narrative. Frigyes Hidas’ “1+5” and Robert Spillman’s “Ballade” pay homage to tradition, pairing the trombone with woodwinds and piano to create intimate dialogues. Carter Pann’s “Duo” and Kevin Day’s “Fantasia IV” offer playful and expressive exchanges between instruments. Sergei Rachmaninoff’s “Vocalise” and Still Woozy’s “Rid of Me” bridge timeless beauty with modern innovation, celebrating the power of collaboration and emotional storytelling.This performance features Sterling Tanner, trombone; Margaret McDonald, piano; Christina Jennings, flute; Peter Cooper, oboe; Dan Silver, clarinet; Madison Triplett, bassoon; Michael Thornton, horn; and Nathan Mertens, saxophone.
