Faces and Forms - Portraiture Fundamentals with Gentry Leach Ages 16+

This 8-week class invites adult artists to explore the techniques and creative possibilities of portraiture using the painting medium of their choice. Guided by award-winning multidisciplinary artist Gentry Leach, students will focus on key elements such as proportion, anatomy, lighting, color, and expression while developing their own artistic style. Each week combines structured exercises with open-ended projects, encouraging experimentation and personal interpretation. Students will refine observational skills, enhance their technical abilities, and learn strategies to convey mood, personality, and emotion in their portraits. Emphasis is placed on both skill development and creative exploration in a supportive and inspiring environment.
