About this Event
EXPOSED
Written, Directed & Produced by Joel P.E. King
What happens when the mind refuses to stay silent?
Exposed is a gripping, emotionally charged stage experience that pulls back the curtain on the inner world of Black-American men—where strength is expected, silence is taught, and truth is often buried. At the center is Dae, a man standing at the crossroads of identity, pressure, and pain, as he is forced to confront his life through a vivid and unraveling dream.
Within this dream, reality bends. Voices echo. Memories collide. And the people who have shaped him—mother, father, friend, lover, daughter—emerge not just as figures, but as reflections of the battles he’s fought and the truths he’s avoided.
As Dae journeys deeper into himself, what unfolds is a raw exploration of mental wellness, masculinity, family ties, and healing—challenging what it means to be “strong” and asking the question: What does it cost to finally face yourself?
Exposed is not just a play—it’s an experience. One that doesn’t ask for permission, but demands honesty. One that doesn’t gently reveal truth…
it makes it arrive.
