Exposed: Lead in New Orleans Community Listening Session
Do you know if your home has lead?
Many people in New Orleans don’t.
After months of testing playgrounds across the city, Verite News found dangerous lead levels in more than 40 of them. But the issue doesn’t stop there. In homes tested, seven out of 10 had lead in the tap water. In a city with older housing, exposure can come from paint, soil, and water.
Join us for a community listening session at Baldwin & Co. to talk about what this actually means for your home, your neighborhood, and your family.
- Ask questions about lead exposure
- Share concerns or experiences
- Hear from others in the community
- Learn what steps you can realistically take
We’ll also be joined by a lead expert and local advocates working on this issue in New Orleans.
If you’ve had questions since the investigation or recent panel, this is the room to bring them.
