We are here with another Heritage Walk. We will be covering Feroz shah Kotla. Feroz Shah Tughlaq fortified the city of Firozabad in 1354 as the new capital of the Delhi Sultanate and included in it the site of the present Feroz Shah Kotla. Kotla literally means fortress or citadel. The two main attractions at this place are 2000 years old Ashoka Pillar atop the main building which has got Ashokan inscription and a more than 650 years old Mosque which is still in use.
There is also a group of people who believe that this place is haunted by "Djinns" (paranormal entities). This can also be felt in the abnormally silent dark rooms on the ground floor of the main structure. We will cover each structure in the fort in detail. Don't miss this opportunity to explore one of India's most historic landmarks and gain a deeper appreciation for our country's heritage.

- Do wear proper walking shoes.
- To avoid plastic waste please carry water bottles with you.
- As we will be visiting an active mosque bring a cloth to cover your head and dress appropriately.
- Avoid wearing shorts.

Best way to reach:
Please reach out at the meeting point by 2:45 PM. The nearest metro station is Delhi Gate(Violet Line) Exit from gate no. 5. and just walk for 10 minutes towards the fort or take an e-rickshaw from the metro station towards Feroz Shah Kotla and you will reach the destination. Public buses and cabs are also an option. The Fort has adequate parking space near the entrance gate for those in their vehicles.
