About this Event
This popular 90-minute online webinar, has been updated with the latest research and insights into the role of psychedelic medicines in end-of-life care.
Explore how psilocybin, ketamine, and MDMA are being used to address the mental, emotional, and spiritual challenges faced by individuals living with terminal or life-threatening illnesses.
You’ll gain updated knowledge on:
- Psilocybin Therapy: The most mystical of the three medicines we will discuss, psilocybin is a deeply studied approach that facilitates experiences of an expanded state of consciousness, fostering a profound sense of connection to all of humanity. Many individuals report that this feeling of oneness alleviates their fear of dying, allowing them to embrace the present moment and live more fully.
- Ketamine Therapy: A legally available treatment known for its rapid relief of depression and anxiety, ketamine has also shown promise in helping individuals come to terms with their mortality. For some, it evokes the metaphorical wisdom of Ancient Greece: "Die before you die so you don’t die." This powerful medicine has brought a profound sense of peace to many as they approach the end of life.
- MDMA-Assisted Therapy: Although not yet widely studied in end-of-life care, MDMA—often referred to as the "heart opener"—has been shown to foster self-compassion and compassion for others. For individuals facing a terminal illness, cultivating love for oneself and strengthening relationships with loved ones are often two of the most meaningful "bucket list" priorities during this stage of life.
We'll share stories of individuals who have been positively impacted by the safe and supported use of psychedelics. We’ll also explore key considerations, the approach to ensure safety, and how to maximize benefits, along with the important role families play in supporting those facing a life-threatening or terminal illness.
