About this Event

The Tutti Music Collective presents its springtime collaboration with Ezekiel's Wheels in an exploration of the music of Jewish composers over time.

The rich traditions of Jewish music encompases many present-day genres, but has deep roots in the folk music of many communities. Perhaps the best know form, Klezmer, is a vibrant instrumental musical tradition of Ashkenazi Jews from Eastern Europe, originating in the Middle Ages. Over the years, Jewish composers have also been well represesnted in classical, popular, and theartre music.
This concert will present a brief evolution of this music, from its folk origins through today, in a blend of choral and instrumental forms.
