About this Event
Join Toni at the Bethel Public Library to share and discuss the work of some of her favorite children's book illustrators. Participants are invited to bring some of their own favorites to share. At the end, everyone will have the opportunity to decorate and take home a collection of bookmarks.
Professor: Toni Hover
Some years ago Toni began a life-changing friendship with the wonderful children's book writer and illustrator Ashley Bryan. Ashley lived on an island in Maine, and Toni and her family would visit him there every summer. Over time Ashley shared a variety of his books with Toni, hoping that she would share them with the children she spent time with.
For about 20 years Toni brought her love for the work of artists and writers who produce children's literature to third-grade classes in South Royalton. She continues to admire and enjoy the many authors and illustrators who use their gifts to brighten the worlds of young children, and she encourages children to consider that they could also use their artistic skills to tell a good story.
Audience: Geared toward elementary-aged children and their adults.
Materials or Prep: Feel free to bring your favorite children's books to share!
