Explorers' Blind Tennis - Spokane

Explorers and families are invited to discover and practice Blind Tennis!
It’s well documented that playing sports provides many benefits for children, including improved physical and mental health, reduced stress and anxiety, and improved self-esteem and confidence.
But what to do when you don’t have access to team sports? How about tennis!
Participating in Blind Tennis can build a strong sense of community and create a welcoming environment for kids with blindness and low vision, allowing them to participate in adaptive recreation with a sport that allows for family participation, at home as well as on the courts. The event will also:
• Encourage adaptive skill acquisition through a sport the whole family can participate in.
• Build self-confidence and resilience through a community activity.
• Inspire goal setting skills for becoming better players that can be applied to future educational and employment challenges.
• Share opportunities to play tennis in Washington State.
Activities will include a professional coaching clinic and training camp. Youth will learn to build skills and confidence with guidance from experienced coaches.
