Join NYC mushroom cultivator Louie Vassar Semanchik at Brooklyn Roots Collective (255 Randolph St.) on Thursday, March 5th for a live cooking demo and tasting focused on transforming specialty mushrooms into deeply flavorful, satisfying dishes using simple, and repeatable techniques. In this Specialty Mushroom Workshop, Louie will showcase approachable methods for preparing and cooking mushrooms such as oyster, lion’s mane, maitake, and king trumpet. From 6 PM to 7:30 PM attendees will learn how different cuts, prep styles, and sauté techniques dramatically change texture and flavor and witness cooking demos in real time, taste side-by-side comparisons of different techniques, and see how mushrooms can be intentionally incorporated into a complete dish with just a few supporting ingredients.
