Join us for a guided walk in Perivale, exploring another side of this often-overlooked neighbourhood, in collaboration with GOSaD (Golden Opportunity Skills and Development) — an Ealing-based charity working to build a vibrant and more equal society.
We begin at Perivale Station and set off through nearby green spaces towards the Medway Estate. Along the way, we’ll pause to discover local community assets, share stories, and perhaps even enjoy a small treat at one of the stops. You’ll also hear about the area’s history, including the estate’s origins as housing for workers from the many factories that once operated nearby.
From there, we continue into Perivale Park, crossing the footbridge over Western Avenue. In the park, we’ll remember Nicky Hopkins, the renowned session musician commemorated by a piano bench, and whose legacy is also celebrated at the Pear Tree Bistro — our usual optional stop at the end of the walk. If you don’t stay for a drink or snack, do take a moment to step inside and explore the wonderful collection of 1930s photographs and postcards displayed on the walls.
