About this Event
This is the 3rd workshop in a series of 4 (you don’t have to attend all 4 though — you can pick and choose the sessions that feel most relevant to you).
Join our friendly, easy-to-follow and interactive 2.5 hour workshop designed especially for neurodivergent adults.
You will hear from and connect with others with lived experiences.
This workshop is for neurodivergent adults who are living in Wokingham, who:
- want to better understand how their brain and body work day to day
- experience overwhelm, shutdown, burnout, or sensory overload
- struggle with focus, energy, motivation, planning, or task initiation
- are pre-diagnosis, newly diagnosed, or late identified
- are family members or carers who want to improve their understanding & support
This is a neuro-affirming space, focused on lived experience rather than deficits, judgement, or trying to “fix” ourselves.
Together, we’ll explore how executive functioning and sensory processing show up in real life, and how these experiences can change depending on environment, stress, masking, and expectations.
A key focus of this session is interoception — how we notice and understand signals from our own bodies — and how differences here can affect emotions, regulation, needs, and recovery after overload.
There will be plenty of opportunity to talk, ask questions, share experiences (if you’re comfortable), and take part in activity-based learning (if you want to) — or you can simply listen. You are welcome to participate in the way that feels right for you.
What we’ll cover:
- What executive functioning and sensory processing mean in everyday life
- Interoception: understanding body signals, emotions, and internal needs
- How overload happens — and why it’s not a personal failing
- Sensory recovery and repair after overwhelm or shutdown
- Exploring practical tools and strategies that actually work for you
- Supporting yourself more compassionately in daily life
You’ll leave with greater understanding of your needs, practical ideas to try, and reassurance that your experiences make sense.
We don’t claim to have all the answers. This is a shared learning space, grounded in lived experience, where we explore, reflect, and learn together.
This workshop is led by trainers with lived and professional experience of neurodivergence, who are committed to creating safe, inclusive, and non-judgemental spaces.
Our sessions are practical, relatable, and grounded in real-world understanding — not clinical.
Whether this feels like a continuation of your journey, or something you’ve never had language for before, you are welcome here.
Book your place and come as you are. You don’t need to have it all figured out.
This workshop is FREE for neurodivergent adults living or working in Wokingham
(family members or carers who want to improve their understanding & support of a neurodivergent adult are also welcome to attend).
(Those living outside of Wokingham Borough are able to purchase an affordable ticket instead, but there are limited numbers.)
