Explore Canoe courses are for people who have taken part in a Discover Canoe course (or similar experience). This course is for FCC members.
About this Event

Explore canoe is the perfect next step for anyone who wants to continue learning to canoe. A great way to unwind at the end of the day. The course runs for 6 weeks on Tuesdays starting 7th May 2024, 6.30-8.30pm.

Who is this course for?

This course is for Forth Canoe Club members adults, and 16 years or over. Membership (£25) is available separately on eventbrite at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/812557460237. Membership runs until end of February 2025 and is essential while particpating in events run by FCC because it covers your insurance.

Location: all courses will run from our boathouse, situated on the bank of the Union Canal at the southern end of Harrison Road.

What you should bring with you:

It's a good idea to bring a snack and a bottle of water since there is no drinking water on-site. In addition you will need suitable clothing for canoeing (this is weather dependent, but could include a fleece, warm t-shirt/thermal, tracksuit trousers, cagoule/windproof, hat and towel) and a change of dry clothes for afterwards. We encourage you to wear footwear in the canoes, plimsolls, crocs or wet-shoes are ideal. There are changing rooms & a toilet available during this time.

The cost of the course is £60. Under 18's are eligible for 50% discount by entering Promo code FCCUnder18 during checkout.

Information we require

During booking you must fill in a form, about medical info that the coach should know, and emergency contact info etc. We appreciate it takes time to complete the forms but we have a requirement to provide our coaches with up to date information about the students they will be coaching. Many thanks for giving our coaches the information they need.

DATA USAGE

Forth Canoe Club will keep a record of members’ names and addresses and contact details on an EventBrite account accessible to those who need it in the Forth Canoe Club Committee. Your record may be inspected by contacting the Membership Secretary. We are affiliated to the SCA and will pass on your data for insurance and membership statistics use. By signing up this course, you are agreeing for Forth Canoe Club to use your contact data in this way if necessary.
