Instructor: Katie PlatteThis class will explore Stick books and Japanese bindings, Folded Accordion Book structures, and Tunnel Books for creative home studio projects or to integrate into any learning environment. Books can be vehicles for dynamic interdisciplinary classroom learning experiences, whether curriculum-based research, project presentation, or creative expression! In this workshop, participants will create six different book structures, covering: an introduction to basic bookbinding terminology, materials and tools, structures, and applications; construction: covers and end pages, page layout, folding, stitching, gluing, and finishing; and tips and methods for incorporating themes and adapting to various classroom settings and student groups (for educators.)

A 30-minute lunch break is included in the class schedule.
