An intro to the bela.io platform by making a capacitive touch instrument that plays samples.

Saturday February1, 2024. 2:00pm -- 5:00pm.

This will introduce the bela.io platform, a low latency platform for sound installation, what it can do and its advantages in certain circumstances over other options. We will also discuss working with capacitive touch sensors sucessfully, and the difficulties and considerations. And explain the bela.io IDE and how to upload code to the board. And then use pure data code, bela and a trill craft sensor to make a basic capacitive touch sample playback instrument.

Prerequisite: some experience with pd and/or max msp

Required Materials: a laptop and headphones.
