Drawing Presence
A life drawing workshop and the phenomenology of the body
We’re delighted take part in Bar Oussou’s weekly “community living room” for an afternoon of life drawing, free tea, and creative exploration.
This is a donation-based workshop designed to be accessible for the community. Instead of a formal class, you can expect a laid-back and experimental guided session that welcomes all levels of experience. Together, we’ll explore concepts of phenomenology — the study of lived experience — and see how they connect to life drawing.
Through a series of different pose lengths paired with prompts, we’ll move away from strict technical accuracy and towards new ways of seeing: gesture, breath, edges, shadows, and presence.
What to expect:
- A guided life drawing session focused on presence over perfection
- Partially clothed model
- Free drinks provided
- Materials available (though bringing your own is encouraged)
- A welcoming, community-minded atmosphere

- Tickets: Free spaces on a first-in-best-dressed basis
