Join us for an exclusive in-person event celebrating the visionary architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Explore his innovative design for Community Christian Church and hear from experts about this one-of-a-kind building in Kansas City.
Building tours will be on-going throughout the day. Speakers will discuss the preservation of Frank Lloyd Wright buildings beginning at 1 pm.

- The Big Picture: Frank Lloyd Wright’s Broader Legacy - In 2019, eight buildings designed by Frank Lloyd Wright were added to the UNESCO World Heritage List for their “outstanding universal value” and global importance—but how does this resonate at the local level? This talk will share examples of Wright’s role in influencing generations of architects and designers, as well as discuss his relevance in the twentieth century discourse.

- Reading Frank Lloyd Wright’s Community Christian Church: The Inside Track to a Successful Rehab - In 2021, STRATA Architecture + Preservation completed a historic structures report for Community Christian Church that provides a roadmap for future preservation efforts. This presentation will discuss the process used to gather information, assess the building, and formulate a plan. The same approach can be applied to rehab projects of all sizes.
