EXPANSION is a 35 hour intensive designed for intermediate/advanced dancers. This program is geared towards dedicated, hard-working students interested in taking their artistic abilities to the next level through intensive training and creative collaboration, culminating in a video performance in San Francisco. This piece will be in collaboration with videographer Natalia Roberts.
This intensive will work in 3 parts;
Part 1: in January videos will be sent to students breaking down sections of choreography. Dancers will be expected to have reviewed and rehearsed these sections on their own before we meet in person so they can be easily integrated into the choreography.
Part 2: We will meet in San Francisco Monday March 10th to Thursday March 13th to stage, clean and run the choreography. Classes will be held from 9am to 5pm each day.
Part 3: Friday and Saturday are filming day on location. The piece will be professionally directed, filmed and edited. Each Expansion dancer will be credited as a performer.
The intimate class size of 15 students offers hands on attention with Kami Liddle and her particular style. In order to keep the level high and challenge each dancer, students will be required to complete an application and submit a video highlighting their abilities.
ABOUT THE CHOREOGRAPHY:
Kami will create a 3 part choreography combining elements of contemporary dance and fusion dance. Collaborate in a supportive, creative environment to produce a professional video that highlights each dancer’s strengths, showcasing their talent and potential to the fullest.
