About this Event
Expansion: Creating Space for New Possibilities — Gazespotting, Meditation & Equine Connection
Join us at Dun-Pikin Farm for a meaningful, restorative experience that blends meditation, Brainspotting, and intentional connection with horses in a calm, supportive, and nature-immersed environment.
During our two hours, we will engage in Expansion Gazespotting—a guided experiential practice led by co-facilitator Miriam Kahn, LCSW-C, that invites you to gently explore what is possible, opening space to connect with your hopes, visions, and possibilities. We will also move through a guided meditation, rooted in Positive Psychology, led by Courtney Jones, LCSW-C, CCTP, designed to support grounding and cultivate a deeper connection to what’s possible.
Throughout the experience, we will slow down, breathe, and connect with expanding awareness while horses serve as powerful co-facilitators, helping us stay present, embodied, and open to new possibilities.
This event is open to all members of the community. No prior experience with horses, meditation, or therapy is required—just a willingness to show up and explore.
Please note that while this is not therapy, these types of sessions can evoke a variety of feelings, and we suggest processing any emotions that arise with a mental health provider after the community event.
Facilitators
Miriam Kahn, LCSW-C
Miriam Kahn is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker–Clinical in Maryland and Board Approved Social Work Supervisor. Her work supports individuals who may have intellectually “done the work” but still seek deeper healing—embodied connection, authenticity, and the felt sense of being understood.
She is trained in Phase 1, Phase 2, and Expansion Brainspotting, supporting clients in processing deeper layers of experience, including disenfranchised trauma and grief. Miriam integrates experiential and attachment-focused modalities, including Animal-Assisted Psychotherapy with canines and equines, and is trained in Natural Lifemanship Levels 1 & 2. She is passionate about the healing potential of the human–animal bond and creating spaces of relational safety, regulation, and transformation.

Her work is grounded in attachment theory, psychoanalytic perspectives, and the mind–body connection, with a focus on neuroplasticity and healing through lived experience. She practices through a social justice lens, recognizing systemic and intergenerational trauma.
