About this Event

Join us for evening tours of our latest exhibit Swedish Footprints in the United States - Celebrating 250 Years of Shared History.

Come see our beautiful Embassy building House of Sweden - a stunning example of contemporary Scandinavian architecture. An Embassy representative will be available to answer questions and offer tours. Drop-ins are welcome if space is available.

About the Exhibition
For nearly four centuries, people of Swedish descent have helped shape the United States—from the early settlers of New Sweden in the 1600s to the innovators, entrepreneurs, artists, activists, athletes, public servants, and cultural figures of today.

Highlighting individuals who lived, worked, or built their careers in the United States, this exhibition explores the distinct experiences and cultural expressions that emerged within the Swedish American community.

Presented in commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Declaration of Independence, it traces the diverse stories and enduring legacies of Swedish Americans through prints, photographs, videos, and music—revealing how their contributions continue to influence the nation’s evolving story.
