Join us for the opening of Te Atamira's exhibition 'Infinite Possibilities'.
Artists Chora Carleton, Lisa Benson and Caleb Canard coalesce in this exhibition, a shared process based inquiry on how we perceive and experience interrelated, dynamic cosmic forces on a paradoxical macro and micro scale.
Playing with the principle that any individual or individual point from where the universe is measured, is innately the centre of our ever expanding perception, means that you, we, everything could simultaneously be the centre of the universe.
This co-creative project embraces infinite possibilities. Each viewer, each body, each consciousness is the centre of the universe. Whakaari Gallery, Te Atamira, performs as a template for a portal to radical perception. Framed as a critically aware investigation, focusing on Tāhuna/Queenstown’s unique celestial and geographical co-ordinates, the artists invite play and curiosity as ways to grapple with uncertainty.
Blending photography, mark-making, performance, and installation, the project unfolds through iterative exchange. Images, gestures, and texts are shared, adapted, and reworked across practices, generating a collective visual language that is shaped by mutual influence and relational encounter. Meaning is not fixed but emerges through process, through the ongoing interaction of bodies, materials, site, and time, attuning viewers to the subtle dynamics of place and our position within the stars.
All are invited to join us as we open this exhibition in Te Atamira's Whakaari gallery space at 5:30pm on May the Fourth 02026.
