For the first time in the US the LBI presents an exhibition of private photographs preserved by an inmate at the Theresienstadt Ghetto.
About this Event

On May 6, 2026, the Leo Baeck Institute New York | Berlin will open Hidden in Plain Sight: The Secret Photo Album of Theresienstadt.

After a short introduction by LBI and Jakub Weiner of the Weiner family, Dr. Christiane Bauer will explore the history of the Theresienstadt ghetto through its visual culture. She examines how the newly discovered “G.T. Album” photo collection helps paint a fuller picture of the often misunderstood ghetto.
