Come see my paintings from the last 30 years. I have been painting now for more than 30 years. I have collected my own work over those years enabling me to now exhibit paintings from every year of my practice 1994-2024. I started painting after I nearly drowned. I vowed, when I thought I might die, that if I survived, I would pursue my childhood dream to be an artist. I did not know at first, what I was searching for, but I knew I was searching for something. The alchemy of painting led me, after a few years of tertiary studies and experimenting with concepts, techniques and processes; to realise I was using painting to reconnect, nurture, heal and recover, my inner child. There was something about the honesty, immediacy, sensuousness and sheer expressiveness of painting from my inner child, that enabled me to paint in a way that brought me solace. And gave me a way of painting landscape and nature that evoked memories of that sense of wonder and awe for nature we can all remember as a child. This exhibition documents and showcases that journey.
