"For a little over a year now, I've dedicated myself to a quiet, ritualistic moment every morning after breakfast: drawing my mandalas. What began as a morning relaxation exercise has become a ritual and a profound journey of discovery—a reconnection with my inner child, my creativity, peace, joy, and a space of inner clarity."
Over this time, more than one hundred works have been created. They all bear Katja Bode's signature:
Delicate, precise patterns, interplay of colors that oscillate between softness and intensity, and shimmering accents in gold and silver that lend each mandala a touch of elegance and preciousness. The formats are deliberately small—15 × 15 cm—because in this delicate size their power is particularly evident: as small islands of tranquility, as sparkling pearls that invite quiet contemplation.
The exhibition Open Heart Mandalas – Pearls of Inner Peace and Harmony brings together a selection spanning from the very beginning of her artistic practice to the present – works coming from the heart and speaking to the heart.
"Each mandala tells of a moment of inner connection — with myself, with life, and with the space of peace that resides within us all," says Katja Bode.
"My intention is for visitors to experience what I feel when I draw: an open heart, curious wonder, and the delicate magic that arises when lines, colors, and inner stillness merge."
