About this Event
Autumn Salon is an exhibition of Indigenous and Contemporary artworks drawn from the Gallery stockroom that reflect a warmer and vibrant time of the year. The colours are rich, warm, and earthy, with features of vibrant reds, deep oranges, golden yellows, muted beiges and olive greens.
Representing a balance between light and dark, the exhibition embraces the symbolism of the season with over thirty works from represented and stockroom artists. The artists featured in the exhibition have each responded to the season differently. Colour, texture and a sense of renewal connect the works in harmony.
This selection brings together a dynamic mix of works by contemporary artists Ann Thomson, Christine Christophersen, Jeff Makin, Mirra Whale, and Peter Hudson.
Impressively scaled paintings by renowned Aboriginal artists Dorothy Djukulul, Gloria Petyarre, Kathleen Petyarre, Kudditji Kngwarreye, Lucy Loomoo, Nellie Marks Nakamarra, Ningura Napurrula, Paddy Stewart Tjpaltjarri, Phyllis Thomas, Rusty Peters, Ross Yulidjirri, Tatali Napurrula and Thomas Tjapaljarri drawn from the Gallery’s collection also feature.
*Please note, there will be no opening held for this exhibition.
Mitchell Fine Art is open 6 days a week; Mon - Fri 10:00am - 5:30pm, Sat 10:00am - 5:00pm, with onsite parking available. The gallery is fully wheelchair accessible.
