‘Det må ikke blive til noget’ is a quote from the makers of the zine IKLIPSX. The magazine is an important Danish punk fanzine that was published in seven issues from August 1978 to 1980. With a base in Copenhagen and an editorial staff consisting of key figures from the Danish punk milieu, including members of Sods (later Sort Sol), No Knox and Camilla Høiby, IKLIPSX played a decisive role in documenting and communicating the punk culture in Denmark. It was important to the group that the zine didn’t materialize into something big.The zine was Denmark's first fanzine from the punk scene and stands as an important historical document that not only depicts a musical genre, but also the rise and development of an entire subculture. The exhibition gives you the opportunity to delve into this exciting era of Danish music history and experience the energy and creativity that drove the young punks forward.
IKLIPSX has definetly made a mark and today zines has evolved into comics, art, photography, self healing and political issues. The exhibition will also show a variety of zines from 2010-2024 and how the community of making zines has grown without “becoming something big”.
The exhibition will be at Korsgade 30 in the library’s opening hours the whole week of CPH Zine Fest 10 year celebration, you can find the rest of the program here:
