10 monologues

by 10 women

All taking back their apologies.

In a culture that try’s to squeeze us neatly into a small box, making us believe we are too much and yet not enough- merely breathing is an act of rebellion.

I Like My Nose
written and performed by
Sarah Mayhew

Is an actor/director & founder of Old Trunk Theatre.
I started life as a dancer, well not life, in life I was a baby but in my career I danced, and my first job saw me running away to a Circus, in Mexico, all feathers, fishnets & turning into a duck!
I worked in the UK & internationally, and after hanging up my tail feathers & packing up my tit tape I went on to work in theatre/TV/ film, radio & comedy (BBC, ITV, NETFLIX, SKY, CHANNEL 4, you know the vibes)
And I still do, when they’ll have me... trixy when you are over 25! I love dogs and am very fond of pickles.

Upstaged
Written and performed by
Linzy Taylor

Linzy is an actor, writer, producer, and self proclaimed Masshole from Worcester, Massachusetts. Sarcasm is her love language. She's currently living in Arizona with her soon to be ex-husband, ex-husband, and four of six of their collective children. Linzy is a content creator on social media who is known for her unique living situation, comedy sketches, singing, and parenting alternatively. Musical Theatre was a big part of her childhood, as was being rejected in the entertainment industry for being fat and obnoxious. Often being told she was "too much", made her dreams seem unattainable. Now at forty, she's more afraid NOT to make them a reality. Credits Include Su Friedrich's HIDE AND SEEK, and THE CHEER CHOICE AWARDS.

Jennifer Esposito
Creator/Director

Native New Yorker and award winning actor first brought the IM SORRY MONOLOGUES to LaMama theatre in December 2022. Jennifer, a long time believer in using art to heal, has proven this to be true with this deeply powerful vehicle for not only the performers but the audience alike.

Jennifer’s most recent work, Fresh Kills, a now critically acclaimed film in which she wrote, directed, produced and co-stars can now be seen on Amazon Prime and other outlets. She loves her dogs more than most people and hopes for a Donkey in the near future.

Alicia Coppola- (unable to attend)
