Perched above the River Leven, close to the town of Markinch, the tower-house of Balgonie Castle is the oldest complete keep in Fife. Built for the King's treasurer, Sir Thomas Sibbald, in the 14th century, possibly on the site of an earlier fortification, many famous characters from Scotland's history have visited the castle, including King James, Mary, Queen of Scots, and Rob Roy MacGregor.
Recognised as one of the most haunted locations in the UK, Balgonie Castle is home to one of the oldest and best known ghosts in Fife, Green Jeanie. A floating head has been witnessed on the staircase and a stern-looking woman in the Great Hall, where a skeleton was found in the early 20th century. Other sightings include a soldier wearing 17th century uniform in the courtyard, a hooded figure in the chapel, and a phantom dog along with reports of disembodied voices, footsteps, and items being moved.
In previous investigations, the Scottish Paranormal team has recorded responses purportedly from former lairds, giving information later confirmed by historical records.

Psychic Ghost Walk
This will consist of a tour of the location with one of our trusted Psychic Mediums, Lee Dunn or Louise Walker. The aim is to not only allow you to familiarise yourself with the location and the history, but also allow our medium to channel information from the spirit realm and give information on any spiritual presences.
Vigils & Experiments
The event will feature various vigils and experiments that everyone can participate in. These include filmed vigils, trigger object experiments, EVP experiments, and using various equipment to detect and communicate with the unseen. You will have the opportunity to use some of our equipment for yourself to experience it in operation. There will also be free-roam time after the structured sessions, where you can become an investigator and conduct your own mini-vigil, accompanied by one of our team members.
Review Of Findings & Experiences
Findings will be analysed throughout the evening and there will be a discussion at the end of the investigation, with details of the completed analysis published on our social media and website once completed.
