An evening of mindfulness welcoming new practitioners to our sangha in the Plum Village tradition founded by Zen master Thích Nhất Hạnh.
About this Event

Welcome to Wake Up Dublin

We’re a community of young adults (ages 18–35) practicing mindfulness in the Plum Village tradition, founded by Vietnamese Zen Master Thích Nhất Hạnh.

We gather in person every Sunday evening in Oscailt, 8 Pembroke Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4. On the first Sunday of every month, we host a special open evening to warmly welcome new practitioners.

During our gatherings, we may practice:

• 🧘 Sitting meditation

• 🙌 Walking meditation or mindful movement

• 📖 Reading and discussion

• ❤️ Dharma sharing

• 😌 Deep relaxation

• 🎶 Singing meditation and chanting

We invite everyone to arrive 5 minutes early so we can begin with calm and presence. Mats, cushions, and blankets are provided, and there’s free street parking outside Oscailt.

If you can afford it, we kindly request a €5 cash donation to contribute to the costs of the space. All facilitators are volunteers and all donations are passed dirctly to Oscailt. If your plans change, please update your RSVP to give others the chance to attend.

This group is run on a voluntary basis, and we welcome regular attendees who practice in the Plum Village tradition to get involved and support the continuation of our Sangha.

For those above the 18–35 age range, we recommend the all-ages Open Heart Sangha on Tuesdays at 19:30, also in the Plum Village tradition and based here in Oscailt.

About the Plum Village Tradition

Plum Village Monastery in France was founded in 1982 by Zen master, poet, and peace activist Thích Nhất Hạnh, known lovingly as Thầy by his students. Nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by Martin Luther King Jr. in 1967, Thầy was a globally revered spiritual leader known for his accessible teachings and writings on mindfulness and peace.
