About this Event
Evening in Annapolis: An Evening of Advocacy
Join us for an Evening in Advocacy on Monday, February 9th, from 4:00–8:30 PM, at the Governor Calvert House in Annapolis. This is our opportunity to rally together and elevate our collective voices on the issues that impact children, families, the early care and education community, small businesses, and funding for educational excellence across Maryland.
During the evening, you will hear directly from state leaders, who will speak to the group about current and upcoming legislative initiatives and advocacy efforts in Maryland. You will also have the opportunity to engage with your legislators, learn how a bill becomes law, and be recognized at the State Capitol for the essential work you do every day to support families and drive Maryland’s economy.
Registered attendees will receive exclusive advocacy resources, including talking points and guidance on scheduling and attending meetings with legislators. These materials are provided only to registered participants and will not be shared widely. While key talking points will be available, we strongly encourage you to share your own stories—personal experiences make the greatest impact.
This is a free event, and a boxed dinner is included. Additional resources and appointment tools will be shared with registered participants leading up to the event.
Why should you come?
We are stronger together. Your voice matters—and child care matters.
This is our Call to Action!
1. Tell your legislators how the child care scholarship freeze impacts you, your program, and the families you serve.
2. Prevent future disruptions in the Child Care Credentialing Program by ensuring funding now and for future years.
3. Bring your stories and your priorities front and center for the state legislator: (eg: general liability insurance issues, PreK expansion funding and policies, access to health care benefits, Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health supports)
