This weekly offerings are a great opportunity to explore the benefits of breathwork when it is practiced on a regular basis.
In the Pranayama tradition of Breathwork we use conscious breathing to promote the physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing of a person. Breath is the thread that binds the body, mind and spirit and it is easily accessible. Through guided breathwork patterns we work the prana (life force) within our body, leading to the following benefits:
- Stress reduction by calming the mind
- Improved energy levels stimulating the circulatory and respiratory systems
- Enhanced mental clarity and focus by calming the mind and reducing stress hormones
- Emotional balance; learning to control the breath becomes a tool for managing anxiety and promoting a feeling of peace
- Boosting the Immune system; deep breathing techniques stimulate the lymphatic system
- Improved sleep quality; regular practice promotes relaxation and prepares the body for restful sleep
- Spiritual development; by mastering the breath and influencing the flow of Prana (life force), this practice awakens subtle energies with the body and cultivate a deeper connection to inner self.
Please bring to practice the following items:
- yoga mat
- 2 pillows and bolster (if you have one)
- 2 small blankets
- eye mask
- warm clothes and socks
- any comforting props to enhance body support in a
reclined position on the mat
- water
