The Eurodoc Conference 2026 – Early Career Researchers as Ambassadors for Science and Society will take place in Budapest on 24–25 June 2026. The conference is organised by Eurodoc (the European Council of Doctoral Candidates and Junior Researchers) and DOSZ (the Association of Hungarian PhD and DLA Candidates), with the support of Semmelweis University. It will bring together early career researchers, representatives of researcher organisations, and academic stakeholders from across Europe to discuss the role of early career researchers in shaping academic institutions and strengthening the relationship between science and society.
The conference will explore the role of early career researchers (ECRs) in academic governance, the development of strong and sustainable research communities, and the ways researchers can act as ambassadors of science in public dialogue. Through keynote lectures, panel discussions and interactive workshops, the event will provide a space to exchange experiences, present good practices, and discuss how ECRs can become active contributors both within academia and in society.
Eurodoc is the European federation of national organisations representing doctoral candidates and early career researchers. It brings together organisations from across Europe and works to represent ECRs in European higher education and research policy discussions. Each year, Eurodoc organises its Annual Conference and Annual General Meeting in a different European country, creating an important forum for dialogue and cooperation within the European early career researcher community.
DOSZ, the national organisation representing doctoral candidates in Hungary, is pleased to welcome the Eurodoc community to Budapest and to host this year’s conference.
