Works being performed...
"Eudaimonia" - by Will Wadham
“...knowing therefore, that human prosperity never abides long in one place...” From Herodotus, Histories 1.5
Will's debut album reflects on the eternal patterns of ebb and flow, growth and decline, that occur in the natural world and contrasts this with humanity's seemingly endless need for growth, shining a light on the incompatibility between the two, its impact on the planet as a whole and what might be in store for us if we fail to act. Joining on stage are musicians from the Guildhall Session Orchestra, performing live to stunning visuals by artists Ance Janevica (RCA) and Emylly Ombok (Guildhall).
"Spectral Connections" - by Leonard Maassen
For millennia, humans have made music that imitates the environment; we communicated through music even before the evolution of language. In his piece for jazz quartet and synth, Leonard Maassen explores the relationship between humans and the environment in the context of digital technology. What will the music of the future sound like? How can humans coexist with technology?
