· Initial Partners will be determined prior to first game
o Each player will draw one card from the deck. The two highest cards form one team, and the two lowest cards form the other.
· After each game, winning players stay at the table and separate, and the losing players rotate to the next table and separate (each new game will consist of one winner paired with one loser)
Game Play
· First blackjack determines dealer, cut must be offered
· Screw the Dealer with standard Euchre scoring:
o Game is played to 10pts
o Call trump & take 3-4 tricks – 1pt
o Go alone & take 3-4 tricks – 1pt
o Call trump or go alone & get euchred, opposing team gets 2pts
o Call trump & take 5 tricks – 2pts
o Go alone & take 5 tricks – 4pts
· 20-minute time limit
o If time runs out before a game is finished, the current hand will be finished and the score will be recorded
§ 5-minute warning will be given to finish final hand
· If 1 or 2 people sit out due to odd number of players, they will receive 5 points. If 3 people sit out, they will play cutthroat: take 9’s out of the deck. Deal 5 cards to each player. Dealer flips card up and play commences as regular Euchre. Whoever calls trump plays by themselves against the other two players. Scoring follows standard “going alone” rules
· Tournament winners are determined by the highest total points at the end of the night
o At the end of each game, tables will agree on final score
o One person from each table will bring the scorecard up front to scorekeeper
o Individual with most points accumulated (total points) at the end of the night wins.
· If two players are tied, each will be randomly paired with another player and play a single game to 5 points. The tied player with the higher score wins.
