Ethical Considerations in Creative Arts Therapy Supervision
Date: Friday, May 29, 2026
Time: 8:30am - 4:00pm
Location: Shults Center Forum, Nazareth University
Pre-professional clinical supervision provides a unique opportunity for students to gain hands-on learning and insight from experienced clinicians. Supervision can be extremely rewarding but uniquely challenging due to a supervisor’s multiple and sometimes competing obligations to clients, employers, student therapists, universities, and the profession. Through didactic material and group discussions, this workshop will explore foundations of ethical thinking, decision-making models, compare and contrast codes of ethics, and contemporary ethical concerns, such as boundaries and dual relationships, “gatekeeping,” needs of neurodiverse student therapists, and the use of social media or artificial intelligence through the lens of supervision.
